Components of Welfare Bridle
1/ Headpiece
2/ Brow Band
3/ Nose band
4/ Pads
5/ Snaffle bridle strap

The Quantum’s unique ergonomic designed headpiece gives the horses ears freedom of movement. Situated on the underside of the headpiece are two soft raised pads, creating clearance to the critical muscles and ligaments which are attached to the skull, in the poll area.

* The width of the headpiece allows for a wider bearing surface, contributing to the Quantum bridle's unique balanced fit.

* Two browband positions allow for an accurate fit to compliment your horse's unique facial conformation.

*The Quantum Browbands are interchangeable via an easy fit system, with a choice of sizes in either plain sedgwick leather or handmade stunning crystal bands. These are available in several colour combinations to order.

The Chin and Jaw pads come in varying sizes, enabling an accurate fit. Both pads are cushioned for the ultimate comfort for your horse. The buckles of these pads have an elasticated insert allowing movement, simultaneously. Providing a secure and comfortable fit.

* The Jaw pad position gives clearance to prevent restriction of breathing, swallowing and damage to the hyoid.

* The Quantum Supports the bit to give the most effective positioning.

* Independent cushioned nose band.

*Your Bridle comes with a Standard noseband.
You can purchase a wider noseband in accessories.

Why and How the Quantum bridle was designed and why the name Quantum

In the past the term bridle lameness was used to describe a horse that was sound until the bridle went on and then it went lame. There was no scientific evidence to back this knowledge up, but it was a well known phenomenon.

Two years ago Jill Hick who invented, designed and produces the world class child’s Inky Dinky saddle with her husband Doug, attended a seminar run by world class vets. One of the lectures was given by Dr. Vibeke Elbrond a Danish research vet and scientist who had discovered and traced the myofascia lines from the horses head throughout it’s body to the hooves. It was concluded that the myofascia which run throughout the body of the horse are integral in the function of movement, coordination and stability of the body and that any impairment or Restriction of the myofascia would affect the horses movement, coordination and balance. Subsequent research has also shown that it also affects stamina. Here we have scientific evidence of how bridle lameness happens.
Jill noticed that bridles sit on these vital myofascial lines and nerves and came home with the idea to create a new bridle with the help of her husband and Gill Batt the UK’s leading bitting expert.
Throughout a year of design and testing the brief was simple. We had to be as clear of the vital myofascial and nerves on the horses face as possible. If we could achieve this the horse would be more comfortable and be able to perform better.
By pure chance we also discovered that that in achieving the best position for the bridle to sit on the horses head we also ended up positioning and holding the bit in the optimum alignment within the horses mouth (this rarely happens)

The bridle was tested in ever discipline and by top riders on the British team.
The Bridle was then approved by British Dressage and the FEI.

It was also scientifically tested by Professor Adrian Harrison of Cambridge who now works at Copenhagen Veterinary Research University. The results were highly significant. The Horses ridden and tested in the Quantum bridle not only exhibit a much more regular muscle activity during periods of physical activity, but that their muscle contractions are also associated with fewer sudden uncomfortable/ painful muscle reactions and that their muscle use is highly balanced.
Whereas In summary it was revealed that even minimum pressure by a regular bridle resulted in the muscles going into fatigue quicker and do not exhibit the full range of movement that they are capable of.

Professor Adrian Harrison is an expert in this field and has done years of testing and research, including for many different Horse racing trainers, as overcoming fatigue and maximum limb movement is obviously critical to the training and racing of their horses.

As we already manufacture and sell worldwide the Inky Dinky saddle we were able to manufacture to the highest standards of craftmanship with the best materials and leathers and bring into production for world sales the Quantum bridle.

Named as it is truly a Quantum leap in Bridle design, which is protected by the World Intellectual Property office
